Faith in Action
Assumption Community Faith In Action offers a wide variety of both volunteer and professional services to support those 60 and older to live as independently as possible in the community.
Respite care is designed to give the family caregiver a needed break. Our volunteers will engage the care receiver in conversation, playing games, or many other activities. This allows the caregiver to leave the home for short periods to take time for themselves.
Friendly visiting allows for socialization and companionship up to a couple of hours each week.
Transportation to medical appointments, church, or the grocery store remains a need for many of our clients. When they can't drive our volunteers can be of assistance.
Chore services include things like simple home repairs, lawn mowing, fall clean up and snow removal.
Homemaking can range from dusting and vacuuming to grocery pick up.
Caregiver Consulting is designed to assist the caregiver in dealing with the daily challenges in that role. Whether it is help reduce stress or to come up with better plans for the future our team of social workers and other professionals can be of assistance.
Support Planning focuses on helping individuals to come up with plans to stay in their homes. We assist with accessing other services within our organization and outside of it. Assist with applying for government funding etc.
Home Delivered Meals:
Faith in Action manages the home-delivered meals program in the ROCORI area and can assist with arranging for that service in the rest of our service area.
Assumption Community Faith in Action serves most of the communities and townships within Stearns County and all of the St. Cloud metro area. If we don't serve your area, we will connect you with the organization that does.
