COVID-19 UPDATE

It seems as though things are returning back to “Normal” post-pandemic out in the community.

However, in the medical field, things still remain conservative and cautious due to the potential of spreading the virus. This may seem absurd to some.

Even though things were quickly put into place to restrict visitors from entering our buildings last year, things are slowly opening back up with the direction of the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH), CDC, and Center of Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).

Here are a few things to keep in mind when at Assumption Community:

-Masks are required when in common areas in the facility such as hallways, entryways, and

         gathering spaces.

-Our mass, activities, and meals are reserved for only our residents and tenants. No outside guests to join in these activities yet.

-Residents and Tenants that are not fully vaccinated when they admit to our facilities are to be placed on a 14-day quarantine which involves not having visitors during those 14 days.

-Residents and Tenants are encouraged to wear masks when moving throughout the buildings but may be deemed inappropriate to wear given their status or simply refuse. Please do not follow their lead if you are coming in for a visit from the community.

-Self-screening is still required at entrances of all of our buildings. Please fill them out in their

        entirety.

-Our unvaccinated staff are tested for COVID a minimum of once a month. This frequency is

determined by our county positivity rate and if we have a positive case on campus.

Although this is what we are doing right now, we may have to be more restrictive on visitation if we do have a positive case on campus. We ask those coming in for a visit to have a purpose when coming to visit and try to avoid meandering through the halls looking for people to visit with. This will decrease the amount of time spent in the building. Also, keep in mind that every afternoon our nursing home participates in quiet time to promote residents time to rest. Please try to avoid coming between 1 pm and 3 pm to allow our residents time to rest. We truly appreciate everyone’s dedication to the health and safety of all tenants and residents at Assumption!
